Common import issues

Troubleshoot importing people and skills


You are trying to import a person, skill, or team that already exists. Remove the duplicate row from your CSV or export the current data first, edit it, and then re-import it.

Your CSV is missing a required column such as name or email. Check the template again to confirm which columns are required and which are optional.

One or more email addresses are not in a valid format. Check for typos or formatting problems in the file.

The same email address appears more than once in the CSV. Email addresses must be unique, so remove the duplicate row or combine the information into one person record.

People linked to user accounts are skipped

Section titled “People linked to user accounts are skipped”

If a person’s email matches an organisation Team Member, Workable skips that row instead of updating it. This prevents the Team Member record from drifting out of sync with the user account. Update those account profiles on the SettingsTeam Members screen.
