Assignment analysis
The Resources → Assignment analysis screen helps you review scheduled assignments for people across all plans in one calendar view.
Assignment analysis runs the scheduler for the scenarios you choose for each plan, then displays the resulting assignments as a single cross-plan calendar view.
- Compare the staffing impact of different scenarios across multiple plans
- Spot people assigned across overlapping plans and dates
- Review projects that could not be scheduled or were excluded
- Export the analyzed assignment view to CSV
2. Scenario Selector
Section titled “2. Scenario Selector”Open the Select scenarios section at the top of the page to choose which scenario to analyze for each plan.
Each row shows:
- Plan name
- Scenario to analyze
- Type of plan
- Start date
- End date
- Duration
To use it:
- Go to Resources → Assignment analysis.
- Choose one scenario for each plan you want included.
- Click Analyze schedules.
Plans with different duration types are normalized to calendar days in this screen:

Important behavior:
- Changing a scenario clears the current results until you run Analyze schedules again.
- Analyze schedules requires an active trial or subscription.
- Plans without a valid start date or valid projects may be skipped during analysis.
3. Scheduling Issues
Section titled “3. Scheduling Issues”The Scheduling issues accordion summarizes projects from the selected scenarios that did not produce a normal scheduled result.
Issue types:
- Error: The scheduler could not satisfy the project constraints. This usually points to infeasibility or resourcing conflicts.
- Warning: The project had validation problems that prevented it from being scheduled automatically.
- Info: The project was active but not included in the current scheduled result. Re-run the scheduler if you want it included.
Each issue is shown with:
- Plan name
- Project name
- A short reason or status message
If nothing needs attention, the panel shows No issues to report.
4. People Assignments Output
Section titled “4. People Assignments Output”The main output is the People assignments table.
What you will see:
- One combined calendar covering the full date range across the selected plans
- A sticky Person column on the left
- Assignment bars spanning the dates where each person is scheduled on a project
- Separate visual treatment for different assignment types
- Holiday markers where scheduled holiday constraints apply on day-based plans
Legend:
- Assigned by the scheduler: Standard scheduled assignment
- Required: Pinned assignment that the scheduler had to respect
- Consulting: Oversight/support assignment rather than a committed staffed role
Assignment labels include the plan name and project name, so you can tell which plan each assignment came from.
5. Export Assignments
Section titled “5. Export Assignments”Use Export assignments to download the current analyzed view as a CSV file.
Export details:
- The file is named like
people-assignments-YYYY-MM-DD.csv - The first column is Person
- Each remaining column is a calendar date from the analyzed range
- Cells can include
Holiday - Cells can include
Plan name: Project name - Cells append
(Pinned)for required assignments - Cells append
(Consulting)for consulting assignments - If more than one item applies on a date, they are combined in the same CSV cell
Notes:
- Export is only available for organizations with the export feature enabled.
- The export uses the scenarios currently selected in the scenario selector.
- If no saved schedules are available yet, the export will fail until the selected scenarios have usable scheduler results.
