The Schedule Timeline

After a successful build, open the Schedule tab to see the result on a timeline. This is where you confirm when each project has been placed and how Workable has staffed it.

Each horizontal bar represents a project. The scheduler tries to keep work contiguous, but it may split a project if higher-priority demands need the same people first. Click a project bar to see who has been assigned and what role they have. Different colors are used so you can separate projects visually.

A successful schedule should:

  • Prioritize high-priority projects
  • Respect team size constraints
  • Utilize resources efficiently without over-allocation
  • Complete all or most projects within the plan window

If some projects are not scheduled, it usually means the plan has run out of capacity or the constraints are too tight. You can respond by:

  • adding more people with the required skills
  • reducing project scope
  • extending the plan duration
  • adjusting project priority
  • revisiting skill requirements

If projects have gaps or seem oddly placed on the timeline, check for:

  • conflicting constraints
  • priority order that pushes work around
  • people whose skills do not match the project requirements closely enough
